Driving to Bella Coola
From Vancouver, it’s approximately 1000 km/12-hour drive to get to Bella Coola. From Williams Lake, drive west along Highway 20 through the impressive Cariboo-Chilcotin Coast. Driving down through Heckman Pass, you will pass through five distinct environments, from alpine meadow (moose and caribou country) to sea-level grizzly country. Once you reach the valley floor, you are in the Coastal Temperate Rain Forest. Drive another 45 minutes west along the Chilcotin-Bella Coola Highway through the town of Hagensborg, the original Norwegian settlement dating back to the 1890s. In another seven kilometres, you will see the highway signs marking the turn-off to Eagle Lodge Bella Coola. The driveway is immediately after that, and you will see our sign. Explore the stunning Bella Coola Valley and experience the natural beauty of the Great Bear Rainforest on your way to our lodge.

Arriving by Air
The fastest way to get to Bella Coola is by air. Pacific Coastal Airlines offers daily flights to and from Vancouver, landing at the Bella Coola Airport. Your journey takes you along the spine of the Coast Range, experiencing amazing views that include Mt. Waddington, the highest peak in BC.
Arriving by Ferry
After departing the Bella Coola Ferry, you will drive approximately 2.5 km before arriving in the town of Bella Coola. Continue on the Bella Coola Highway for another 7 km. You will see the highway signs marking the turn-off to Eagle Lodge. The driveway is immediately after that, and you will see our sign. You can visit BC Ferries for more information.
Getting To Eagle Lodge
Getting here is easy! There are three ways to travel to the Bella Coola Valley: by road, by sea, or by air. Located in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, Bella Coola is a 12-hour drive from Vancouver, a 10-hour Bella Coola ferry ride from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island, or a 1.5-hour flight from Vancouver International Airport’s south terminal to the Bella Coola Airport.

"I stayed at the Bella Coola Eagle Lodge with some friends for a work retreat. We can't wait to go back! Everyone on our staff was marvelling at the beautiful new renovations and how lovely a spot it is. There are several places to lounge at the Lodge: an indoor cafe seating area, a stunning dining area, a cozy living room: and all of them have woodstoves to keep things warm in the winter months (the staff was very prompt at servicing them). There is a buffet style breakfast and a coffee/latte machine (way too tempting!); as well, the kitchen staff are happy to make your eggs the way you like them. There is also a cafe open with baked goods and other kinds of coffee options. The staff were extremely pleasant and accomodating. But the best part were the hotel rooms: they didn't spare expense on those beds and pillows. No matter what you've got at home, you'll have a wonderful sleep at the Bella Coola Lodge...!"

"We stayed at the Bella Coola Eagle Lodge as a family for five nights and the experience exceeded our expectation! The lodge was well designed with beautiful touches everywhere creating an inviting and comfortable space as home away home. The room were spacious, exceptional clean, and the beds were super comfy.
The lodge has a beautiful Mountain View and the amenities are amazing. There are so much you can do just around the lodge - read a book in the sofa or on the deck, relax in the hot tub, BBQ with friends, play table tennis, practice golf shot, run around basketball court, or simply sit around the fire pit toasting marshmallows - all with a breathtaking view! The hosts and staff were kind and generous, making our visit a very memorable one!"
